Prayers of the People August 18, 2024
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
The congregational response is “And make music in our hearts to you”.
Heavenly Father, you have shown us the way of life, help us to walk in your ways and to do your will. We pray for all who are dedicating their lives to you; for the newly baptized and recently confirmed, for all who are seeking and enquiring about their faith. Guide our Men’s group, St. Brigid’s Brigade and our ladies study group. We pray for hymn-writers, musicians, especially our Music Director, Ben, and members of our pop-up choirs.
Lord, may we sing your praises and make music in our hearts to you.
Direct all who beautify our world by their talents, all who improve our world by their actions. We pray for artists, architects and planners, for park-keepers and gardeners, all horticulturalists. Bless all actors, singers and dancers, all entertainers.
Lord, may we sing your praises and make music in our hearts to you.
We give you thanks for the gifts you have given to us. We pray for a sharing of talents in our communities, for your blessing on all local elected officials. Bless our homes and loved ones with your joy and peace.
Lord, may we sing your praises and make music in our hearts to you.
Lord, bring light to all who live in darkness and hatred. We pray for all caught up in bitterness or evil thoughts, all who are tempted to do criminal acts or lead others astray. We pray for unity in our country and for all in positions of authority that they may seek good over power. We pray for all who are in sickness or in trouble especially, (Please read the first names of those on the prayer list).
At this time please offer the names of any who are ill or in need of comfort.
for all who have died, who mourn and all who are sad, (Please read the first names from prayer list).
At this time please offer the names of any who have died or those who are grieving.
Lord, may we sing your praises and make music in our hearts to you.
