Prayers of the People July 24, 2022
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
Lord Jesus, as you instructed your disciples to pray, help us be faithful in praising you and bringing our needs before you. May we grow in our faith that you are the perfect Father and will give us good gifts according to your will.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
We pray for our Diocesan Bishops, Susan and Jennifer, our Bishop Elect, Mark, our Rector, Stacy, as well as all bishops, priests, and deacons; that they may be faithful ministers of your word and sacraments.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
We uplift to you those who have been killed, injured, or traumatized because of human violence, especially those in Ukraine and Afghanistan. Wipe away every tear from their eyes. We pray for an end to the violence and for an enduring peace.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
Guide us in our outreach to the disadvantaged, especially through Feed My Sheep. Give us an awareness of the needs in our communities. Direct us in the ways you want us to invest our resources of time, talent and money.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
O Lord, we pray for those who work for justice and peace in our community. We thank you for our members who have worked in law enforcement, past and present.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
We believe that you love and care for those who are suffering from illness, violence and persecution. We pray for protection, comfort and healing for those on our church prayer list (Please read the first names of those on our prayer list) and those we name now.
Please add the names of others in need of protection, comfort or healing.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
Lord, you have given us the gift is eternal life; those who belong to you never perish. Bring us, and those who have died, into your heavenly home where we may worship you forever. We bring before you those who have passed away recently (Please read the first names of those on our prayer list, if any).
Please add the first names of others who have died recently.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
Enliven the Church with your Holy Spirit, so that we may be instruments of your peace and love in a troubled world. Use us and all believers as your ambassadors to our families, colleagues and neighbors.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
