These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
Please join in the Prayers of the People and the congregational response is let your kingdom come in us.
Lord God of all creation, guide us as we strive to serve you, give us joy in our work and hope for a good outcome. We pray for all who work as laborers in your harvest: may they draw others to you rather than themselves; give them grace to speak out against the wrong and to support what is right and good. Give to all who work in mission and ministry the gift of discernment including our Bishops Susan and Jennifer, our Bishop Elect Mark and our Rector Stacy.
Lord of all creation, let your kingdom come in us.
We give thanks for the wealth and the harvest of the world. We pray that none may hunger or be deprived, that the produce and goods of the world may be shared with justice. We remember areas where crops have failed, where people have been driven out of their homeland. We lift to you the work of the Feed My Sheep ministry and other outreach ministry to aid in food insecurity.
Lord of all creation, let your kingdom come in us.
We give thanks for all that you have given to us; teach us to be generous and to share with others. Let us never tire of doing good works. We pray for our places of work and where we fulfil ourselves. We remember all who are unemployed and live in poverty.
Lord of all creation, let your kingdom come in us.
We pray for all who have never been able to work or who have lost their employment through illness. We remember all who suffer chronic illness, mental illness, all who are restricted in their movements and ability. We pray especially for any who have suffered from rejection or abuse. We ask your blessing on friends and loved ones who are in need (please offer the first names from the Prayer List)
At this time please offer the names of others in need of healing and comfort.
Lord of all creation, let your kingdom come in us.
We pray for all who mourn, all who are bereaved, all who are grieving. We remember especially any left on their own and finding it hard to cope. We ask your blessing on our loved ones who are renewed in your kingdom (please offer any names from the Prayer List)
At this time please offer the names of any who have died or are grieving.
Lord of all creation, let your kingdom come in us.
