Prayers of the People September 10 , 2023
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
The congregational response is, “Have mercy upon us.”
Lord, we praise you for your power and compassion that you demonstrated in the Passover, foreshadowing Jesus’ shedding of blood on the cross.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
Heavenly Father, we thank you for your presence in our midst, and your promise to answer our corporate prayers.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
Lord, bring about unity in your Universal Church, which is deeply divided on many issues. Unite us by your Holy Spirit to pursue your purposes in this world.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
Good Shepherd, we pray for all who shepherd their flocks in the Anglican Communion, especially Justin, our Archbishop, Michael, our Presiding Bishop, Mark, our Diocesan Bishop, Gayle, our Assistant Bishop, Ted, our Visiting Bishop, Stacy, our Rector, Jenks and Amanda, our supply priests, that they will seek your direction as they lead, study, preach and counsel.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
We pray for our President, Joe, and Governor, Glenn, as well as all who govern in this and the other nations of the world; that they would do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with you.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
We pray for our relationship with Beulah Baptist Church, that it may help to heal wounds caused by racial injustice and serve to deepen the bonds between our two congregations, as we serve our communities together.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
We commit to you the aged and infirm, the widowed and orphans, the sick and the suffering. We pray for comfort and healing for those on our Little Fork Church Prayer List (please read the first names of those on our prayer list). Please add the names of others who need comfort and healing.
You are invited to add the names of those in need.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
We thank you for your saints who have entered into the joy of your presence, especially (please read the first names of those on our church prayer list). Please name others who have departed this life.
You are invited to add the names of others who have died.
Give to the departed eternal rest; let light perpetual shine upon them; and may we also come to share in your heavenly kingdom.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
At this time, please share any personal requests or thanksgivings, remembering that our Lord promises to answer requests when two or three agree on earth about anything.
