Thank you Festival Preparation Volunteers
On Sunday, Sept. 15 everyone at Little Fork Church came to Sunday Worship Service in their work clothes prepared to start festival preparations immediately after the service. Work has been happening continuously over the past several weeks as well.
The Sunday facilities group greatly improved the look of the property behind the parish hall. Not only on Sunday but in the weeks prior. The fence is down, low hanging branches have been removed and the grass has been cut. It is now an inviting place to walk and the view from the upstairs offices is beautiful. Precaution though, there is poison ivy in the area and they are working on eliminating it but please keep it in mind.
Additionally, mums were planted in front of the two sets of double door of the parish hall and the gardens around the church were weeded. It really brightens up the entryways. Picnic tables were sealed and put into place for the festival. Thank you to the Mellows for generously building them for us at cost. The septic area was marked to protect it from heavy vehicles. Tables were moved and many other tasks were completed.
Prior to Sunday the TV and white board were installed in the parish hall and they not only look great but are also really starting to create the vision of using that room as a community meeting area. The parish hall was cleaned with great attention to detail such as wiping of the borders and scrubbing bathrooms. The concrete side walks were pressure washed and now look fresh and clean.
The Gifts for Good volunteers worked diligently assembling, painting, and packaging the ornaments that will represent all of the groups that will benefit from the sales on Saturday. They were like elves in the workshop. The ornaments are beautiful and creative and will look amazing on anyone's Christmas tree. They returned on Tuesday of this week to complete the ornaments and to organize them for Saturday's set up.
The decorating crew once again brought fall to the church, placing pumpkins and other fall decorations in the windows. It makes you want to enjoy a cup of apple cider. The church is truly beautiful on its own of course but their efforts have put it over the top.
Thank you to all of the volunteers that set aside their time and committed their efforts to preparing for the festival and making our facilities and property really shine as we invite the community to our beautiful grounds. Please if you do not see your name on the list below contact Renae. We don't want to miss anyone, but amidst the whirlwind of activities it may have occurred.
Thank you....
